What Is HUID?
HUID stands for Hallmark Unique Identification number. It is a six-character alphanumeric code, something like A2B3C4 that is stamped directly onto a piece of jewellery and registered in the Bureau of Indian Standards national database.
The HUID system was introduced by BIS in 2021 as part of a sweeping reform of India's jewellery hallmarking framework. Before HUID, hallmarking relied on multiple stamps that were difficult to decode and disturbingly easy to replicate. The HUID changed the rules entirely.
Every piece of jewellery that carries a HUID has been physically sent to a BIS-licensed Assaying and Hallmarking Centre — an independent, government-approved laboratory. How to Verify a HUID

Enter the six-character HUID code stamped on your jewellery. The app immediately shows you the registered purity of the piece, the jeweller it was registered under, the hallmarking centre that certified it, and the date of certification.
If the code does not appear, or if the details do not match what you were told, something is wrong. The HUID system removes all ambiguity. Either the code is in the database and matches, or it is not. There is no middle ground.
